Exciting News!

We have had the most generous donation of £10,000, a bequest from the estate of the late John Bettley. John was the son of our much loved organist, Marjorie Bettley. Sadly, he was killed in a car crash two years ago, dying intestate. During his life, he held many musical posts, directing the choir of Bristol Cathedral, teaching in Windsor and playing the organ at Bray amongst others. Marjorie and her family have most generously distributed his estate amongst Bristol and Gloucester Cathedrals, the school in Windsor, where John taught, his church in Bray and Pitchcombe Church.

Our organ, which was originally given to the church by the Little family is now in a very poor condition and we have been advised that we should not spend more on it’s re-conditioning. We are therefore replacing it with a very attractive organ, which is being sold by St Wilfrid’s Church in Chichester.
