recognises that domestic abuse devastates the lives of those who experience or witness it. We aim to support women and children to build the confidence and skills that enable them to make informed choices about their futures.

We provide safe short-term accommodation and offer support services to families in two 4-bedroomed refuges. We offer accommodation to some of the most disadvantaged families and are pleased to be able to offer comprehensive tailor-made support to both women and children.

Empowering women to make their own decisions

Every woman and child who stays at the refuge has their own negotiated Support Plan, which has been tailor- made to suit their needs.

Stroud Beresford Group focuses at an early stage on developing skills, confidence and self esteem. This means that we support and encourage women and children to make their own decisions, make their own telephone calls, put their own views forward and decide their own futures.

Working towards the future

Our Resettlement Services Worker fulfils a crucial role in bridging the gap between supported accommodation and independent living, ensuring that families who move on from the refuges have the support and skills they need to live independently and to successfully maintain their tenancies.
