Who Can Be Affected?
Anybody can experience domestic abuse. It can occur regardless of class, age, gender, ethnicity, religion, sexuality or lifestyle.
- Everyone has the right to feel safe in their home
- Everyone has the right to live free from violence, fear, oppression, intimidation and threats
- Everyone has the right to make their own choices and decisions
- Everyone has the right to have contact with their friends and family
- Everyone has the right to be treated with respect
- The responsibility for domestic abuse always rests with the abuser
