What is the concession card scheme?

This scheme enables eligible customers to use the pay and play facilities across the Stroud District at 40% less than the standard price.

I am an adult who is not eligible for the new scheme, what are my options?

Each of the centres has their own membership packages.

If I am a concessions card holder and I am referred by my GP onto the “Healthy Lifestyle” GP referral scheme will I still get 40% off the “Healthy Lifestyles” prices?

No, the two schemes are separate and the “Healthy Lifestyles” scheme is already heavily subsidised.

When does the scheme start?

The scheme starts at Stratford Park Leisure Centre, Wotton Sports Centre, Maidenhill Sports Centre, and Thomas Keble Sports Centre on the 1st November 2011.

Do I have to live in the Stroud District to be eligible for the scheme?

No, as long as you meet the required criteria the scheme is open to everyone no matter where they live.

Will restrictions be placed upon school holiday activities?

No, the same rule will apply, pay and play activities will be 40% lower than the standard rate for scheme members.

Will I have to register each year?

The only customers who need to re-register will be;

oThose on benefits;
o 16 year olds who continue into full time education.

If I am 16 am I eligible or do I have to register?

All 16 year olds in full time education are eligible and will have to register bringing proof of age and of education status.

What happens if I am eligible and do not register?

It’s simple, you will be charged full price.

In order to benefit from the scheme you will need to register at the centre.

At what age do we register children?

Children under 18 months swim for free so you do not have to register them onto the scheme.

All children aged 18 months – 15 years are eligible and will need to be registered.

If I come under the Benefit category what do I have to do?

You are required to bring along the same form of identification plus confirmation that you are receiving one of the benefits. A letter is normally the best proof that you are on one of the mentioned benefits.

Do I have to bring proof that I am on benefits each time I use the centre?

No, the details will be recorded onto the database with an expiry date. This date will coincide with when your benefit is reviewed or within 12 months depending on how often your benefits are renewed.

Once I sign up, what do I do next?

When you have signed up all of your details will be recorded on the centres database. You will be provided with a card which you must bring with you each time you want to use the facility.

Hand over the card to the receptionist who will swipe your card which will charge you the discounted price.

What happens if I forget my card?

In order to access the discount you must bring your card with you. Full price will be charged if you do not bring your card.

What happens if I lose my card?

Don’t worry we can replace your card, however a £2.00 fee will be charged for any replacement cards.
